Victorian Tears: Scarce Glass Pearl & Silver Earrings
With a look and feel as lustrous as liquid silk, each glass pearl is topped with a textured silver cap of stylized leaves dotted with silver orbs. The cast hollow silver surmount is circular in form and adorned with three-dimensional floral and modified scroll designs. A patina of a deep charcoal color heightens and accentuates the high relief of the silver. Glass pearls are exceedingly scarce, most having not survived the decades and centuries. These are particularly fine and lustrous with their baroque shape.
