Victorian Silver Locket & Bookchain Necklace
Characteristically large in magnitude and typically worn with its wide silver chain, this late Victorian silver locket is quite arresting with its hand worked surface. Hand-engraved, unique geometric designs as well as the popular floral and leaf motifs flow across the front of the locket.
Continuing with the floral theme, hand set appliqués of rose gold leaves and flowers cover the lower section of the locket face. Silver orbs accent the perimeter of the hinged pendant. The reverse displays the nicely detailed and scalloped edge of the bottom compartment. Double sided, replaced plastic covers are set with the original silver rims.
Accompanying the locket is a bookchain necklace composed of overlapping heart-shaped panels engraved with omnipresent floral motif connected with elongated oval links. Striking when worn with the locket, solo and with any pendant or charm of choice.
