Meeting of Opposites - Gold & Diamond Ring
During the Retro period the use of different colors of gold in one item of jewelry was considered chic and still is. Here a classic four prong set round brilliant diamond of an estimated .10 carats (color G-H; clarity VS1-VS2) is mounted in a 14k white gold square illusion head setting against a 14k yellow gold band. Flanked by a pair (2) of round brilliant diamonds (estimated .02 carats total) set in white gold on each shoulder, the central stone is set in such a manner that it appears much larger than its actual size. Measurements: 1/4 of an inch (0.5 cm) north to south and rises ¼ of an inch (0.6 cm) from the finger. This ring has a weight of 2.2 grams (1.4 dwt).
