Antique Sapphire Diamond Earrings
Natural Prussian blue sapphire cabochons, each just under 2 carats are encircled by twenty (20) rose cut diamonds of about .01 carat each. Yet another dot of color in the form of an additional cabochon is atop at the ear. Set into 18k yellow gold, the sapphires are a deep exquisite blue. Silver-topped gold is the metal of choice to set off the diamonds. Superb heavy metalsmithing is evident in the mount with its lever back ear wires for security and comfort.
Measurements: Just shy of 3/4 of an inch (1.6 cm) in length by 7/16 of an inch (1.1 cm) at the widest. This pair of antique earrings has a weight of 8.4 grams (5.4 dwt).
