Antique Heart Padlock Oak Leaf Bracelet
Padlock bracelets were all the rage during the late Victorian era and the heart motif was everywhere you looked. This late 19th century bracelet connects thick silver horizontal links appointed with twisted silver wire work with square scallop edged links of silver rondels engraved with an oak leaf design and additional patterning.
The mighty oak, long a symbol for power and strength as well as wisdom, is an ideal icon for wearing almost as a talisman for life.
The juxtaposition of lines and curves within the bracelet creates a most beautiful symmetry joined together with a padlock closure of brown banded agate in the shape of a heart.
