Antique Amethyst Fahrner Art Deco Pin

$1,750 USD Item 11569

Coming from a tradition that honored design and form over the intrinsic value of gems and metals, Theodor Fahrner's innovative vision created and influenced jewelry pieces over quite a number of years.

His concepts included industrially designed metal jewelry rendered in simple formats and often incorporated enamel decoration in combination with semi-precious stones. This mid-1920s pin features colored matte enameling of turquoise blue and coral in stylized diagonal strikes of lightening bolts across a surface of silver. As in a number of his later jewels, the characteristic applied circular twisted wire elements are interspersed with faceted amethysts set in orbital bezels. The underside displays the original pin fittings and clasp.
