Antique Dragon & Serpent Locket in Gold
Deep relief gives rise to two images of power: the dragon and the serpent. Coiling and writhing as they wend their way around the surface of this round 14k yellow gold locket.
The jaws of the dragon grasp an old European diamond of approximately .15 carats. The eye is a green paste and the snake eye is of a garnet colored paste.
The reverse is a lovely engraved series of the scrolled initial "GLC". The compartment reveals the original interior rim and cover which can hold a photo or memento.
Measurements: 1-5/16 inches (3.4 cm) in length including the top "O" fitting by 1-1/16 inches (2.7 cm) in width by ΒΌ of an inch (0.6 cm) in depth. This antique locket has a weight of 8.3 grams (5.4 dwt).
