Edwardian Camphor Glass & Marcasite Earrings
Dramatic and lush, this pair of Edwardian pendant earrings is at the same time subtle yet elegant. Camphor glass (a cloudy white glass that is either blown or pressed) or frosted glass has been set into an oval silver bezel set with a trio of marcasites at each cardinal point. A silver appliqué, in the neoclassical form of a floral arrangement in a basket is also accented with sparkling marcasites.
Condition: Very good; modern ear posts changed from original screw back fittings.
Measurements: 2-1/8 inches (5.4 cm) in length by ¾ of an inch (1.9 cm) at the widest. This pair of Edwardian earrings has a combined weight of 12.8 grams (8.2 dwt).
