Edwardian Diamond Drop Earrings
This pair of Edwardian earrings of Old European cut diamonds appears white and dazzling. Mounted in a warm 14k rose gold crown setting, each of the approximately .80 carat diamonds reflect the light cleanly. The pair has a total estimated diamond weight of 1.6 carats with color of J-K and clarity VS.
Drop style, the gems suspend from an articulated surmount accented with a floral motif. For added security the earrings have a safety clasp at the back which swivels. The box is not original to the earrings.
Condition: Very good; one diamond has a bit of edge wear on one side visible with magnification and the diamond is less round in that area.
Measurements: 13/16 of an inch (2.1 cm) in length by 5/16 of an inch (0.8 cm) at the widest. This pair of earrings has a weight of 3.5 grams (2.2 dwt).
Date: Circa 1910
Note: All diamond weights, color grades and clarity are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
