Art Deco Delight: Diamond & Sapphire Ring
Platinum, diamonds and sapphires join forces in the crafting of this 1920s Art Deco ring with a sentimental engraving on the interior of the band of “Billy to A.C.” and a partial date of 1924 with the month and day worn away.
Set into an octagonal bezel mount, an old European cut diamond of .54 carats, E color and clarity VS 2 sits upon a platinum throne of pierced and open work. The ornate platinum mount is replete with millegrain decoration and embellished with four small rectangular cut sapphires and four (4) old mine cut accent diamonds with a total diamond weight of approximately .06 carats. The shoulders of the shank gradually descend to transition to a tapered band entirely decorated in a stylized leaf motif.
Condition: Very good; light overall wear as commensurate with age and use.
Measurements: More than 1/4 inch of an inch (0.7 cm) north to south on the finger. Weight of 3.4 grams.
Size: US 7-3/4 US (UK P; Euro just under an 18, 56.5 mm) but can easily be sized to fit most.
