Enviable Antique Malachite Pendant Locket
Stones such as citrine, amethyst, granite, and various types of agate were very much part of the Victorian tradition of jewelry. These vibrantly colored stones were often coupled with precious metals which complimented their deep tones.
Big, bold and dramatic, a prodigiously sized cabochon of malachite has been set into a saw-tooth bezel of 18k yellow gold. Embellished with a twisted gold rope perimeter and embossed frame, the swirling patterns of the striking light and dark green marbling draw all the attention. Still retaining the original engraved gold bale, the reverse reveals a removable rim and glass covered locket with a deep 6 mm compartment.

Measurements: 2-3/4 inches (7 cm) in length including bale and 2-1/ inches and 2-1/8 inches (5.5 cm) without. This antique locket has a weight of 36.3 grams.
