"D" is For Dynamite Diamond Sapphire Ring

A "D" color near flawless, VVS2 clarity old cushion cut diamond of .92 carats spells nothing if not fantastic. Magical in its power, whiteness and refraction, the stone cut is such that it appears even grander than its already regal size. Slightly longer than wide, the stone is set horizontally for a stand out ring. At its side are two sapphire baguettes and two small accent diamonds, each of approximately .02 points.

The mount is pure platinum with open work patterns. Sitting up prominently on the finger, it is "the" engagement ring.

Condition: Excellent with light wear to the platinum mount. One sapphire has a tiny edge chip visible upon magnification.

Hallmarks: “PLAT” for platinum.

Measurements: The top area of the diamond and mount is each way less than 5/16 of an inch (0.7 cm) and rises ¼ of an inch (0.7 cm) off the finger. Currently a size 6-3/4 (UK N; Euro 17.25, 54 mm) and can be easily sized by our experienced jewelers. Weight of 4.1 grams.

Date: The diamond is earlier 20th century; the mount is modern in date.

Certificate: This ring comes with an EGL USA certificate stating the main diamond is a cushion cut brilliant, color D, Clarity VVS2 at .92 carats in weight. This stone was removed from its setting for grading. The sapphires and accent diamonds were not removed and those weights are approximated.
