Classically Inspired Carnelian Ring

SOLD Item 11185

Certain motifs has pervaded jewelery design for centuries. One is certainly the scroll type motif; another the leaf form. Both are handsomely integrated in this 14k yellow gold substantial ring. Inlaid with a polished harvest orange carnelian, it opposes this simplicity with the deeply chased sized and gallery. Made originally for a man, but striking for a woman.

Measurements: It is 9/16 inches wide north to south on the finger (1.3 cm) and tapers down to 3/16 (.5 cm) of an inch at the back of the shank; it rises 3/16 inches high off the finger. Currently a size US 7 1/4 (UK 0; Euro 17.5; 55.25 mm). Easily sized up or down. Weight of 10.3 grams.

Hallmarks: 585 (for 14k) and an unidentified mark.
