At Large - Sleek Tiger Claw Brooch
Large, sleek and powerful, this fantastic cat claw from a tiger is set within 18k yellow gold on all sides and has at the tip a gold orb. A smooth band of gold at the back holds with "C" clasp and hinge. All is original and dates to circa 1915. This piece is unusual for its polished gold rim without adornment as well as for its generous size.
Condition: Excellent condition; tiny hint of black at the top right and a little flaw in the middle of both sides showing a touch whiter. These flaws are natural to the claws themselves. The pin stem has a few slight bends.
Measurements: 1-1/4 inches (3.1 cm) in length by 1-13/16 inches (4.5 cm) in total width and a tad over 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide at the top. Weight of 10.8 grams.
Date: Early 20th century and is British or Raj Indian in origin.
