Ethereal Moonstone & Diamond Ring in Platinum
A fine cabochon of a diaphanous blue moonstone steals all the limelight in this circa 1945 ring set within a platinum mount. The spectrum of its hues range from neon blue flashes to light blue with hints of shell pink and clear (with no gray or brownish tints). With an estimated weight of just over 5 carats, the oval moonstone is truly exceptional in both size and color range. Two accent transitional cut diamonds of .01 points each are placed on each side. The platinum mount is both streamlined and elegant.
Condition: Excellent. The stone is in lovely condition with very light wear to the surface; the mount has a tiny bend in the gallery and has one reinforcement to the base of one claw.
Measurements: The cabochon measures 12 mm by 10 mm. The ring rises from the finger more than 7/16 of an inch (0.8 cm). It is currently a size US 7-1/2 (UK O 1/2; Euro 17.75, 56 mm). This is easily sized by our expert jewelers. Has a weight of 5.2 grams.
Date: 1945
Note: All diamond and gemstone weights are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
