Insect motif jewelry goes back thousands of years. Whether focusing on scarab beetle bracelets of the ancient Egyptians or the bejeweled insects of Cartier, whimsy finds itself rendered in gold, baroque pearls, rubies and enamel in the form of a pair of fly-motif earrings. Very fine construction and great attention to detail has an 18k yellow gold fly appointed with a baroque pearl for the body, red rubies for the eyes and black enamel demarcating the wings.

Condition: Very good to excellent; a minute silver solder repair to the reverse at the base of fly and to the side of clip.

Hallmarks: 18k

Measurements: 11/16 of an inch (1.8 cm) in length by ½ of an inch (1.3 cm) in width by ¼ of an inch (0.7 cm) in depth to the back of the clip. The pair has a weight of 8.6 grams.
