Swirls in a Whitby Jet Bracelet

An oval of undulating design accented with raised carved beading crafted in Whitby jet is modern and chic in feel. Medium to large in scale, smooth shiny rectangular links of Whitby jet embrace the carved central panel.

Condition: Very good with the front oval near mint. Four panels with a few tiny edge nicks, two edges a bit more noticeable upon close examination or with light shined on the jet. Both very small at 1 mm and when worn these do not show. Jet is a naturally soft material and tiny distresses are typical of this material. There is a small gap between the two back panels to allow the elastic to be knotted.

Measurements: Band measures more than 1-1/8 inches (2.9 cm) in width. Oval piece measures less than 1-3/4 inches (4.3 cm) by 1-3/8 inches (3.5 cm). Inside circumference is approximately 6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm) but bracelet stretches and would fit a wrist of 7 or more inches. This antique bracelet weighs 31.3 grams.
