Victorian Engraved Double Locket Bracelet
Lockets were everywhere during the 19th century but bracelet lockets, especially those whose sole purpose was to house the locket, are quite a find. Here gun metal (An alloy of copper and zinc) is paired rose gold in a double locket. The locket opens to reveal two glass covered and rose gold trimmed compartments—one in the lid and another beneath in the base—which can be lifted out to cloister your own memories, treasures and secrets.
The contents of the base locket can be viewed from inside the compartment as well as from the back. Ostensibly, you could keep three separate mementos—one in the lid, another visible from the within and one from the back.
The bangle is studded with rose gold along the top and side edges. A rose gold safety chain secures the clasp. A beautiful silvery grey patina collides with the warm rose gold to create a delicious contrast. The lid of the locket is intricately engraved with the initials “WS” or “SW”. The exterior of the lid and base is nicely appointed with a ring of rose gold twisted wire.
