Essex Crystal Dog Stickpin
A Miniature Pinscher dog is rendered in rock crystal and gold. Termed an Essex crystal, the technique utilizes rock crystal which is carved out from the reverse, then painted in great detail and often enclosed with a mother of pearl back. This one is circa 1910 and of 14k yellow gold. Hard to capture via photographs, it is petite and charming in person.

Measurements: More than 2-3/4 inches (7.1 cm) in length. Matrix measures more than ½ of an inch (1.3 cm) in diameter. Has a weight of 2.4 grams.
Date: Circa 1910.
