Georgian Antique Silver Seal Fob
18th century crafting and solid silver make for a beautiful antique fob seal. August in weight and solid in feel, it has been fabricated in the same manner and style as any item of traditional English Georgian silver.
This is typical Georgian design and similar to a silver seal circa 1770 by Hester Bateman of London. The matrix of this fob seal has a fantastic decorative script monogram of “AX”, “AXX” or some variation on that theme. Surmounting the monogram is a lovely Fleur-de-lys motif.
Would look striking as a pendant threaded with a velvet ribbon.
Condition: Very good, especially for its age; tiny scuffs and minute surface wear; patina; slight bend on the upper portion of one “C” arm.
Measurements: 1-1/8 inches (3.1 cm) in height and has a weight of 19.6 grams. The base is 7/8 of an inch (2.4 cm) by 15/16 of an inch (2.1 cm).
Date & Origin: Late 18th century; most likely English in origin.
