Art Deco Sapphire Diamond Ring

SOLD Item 10890

Color contrast between deep sapphire blue and the white of a transitional cut diamond combine in an unusual octagonal center. The diamond is approximately .10 points and is set with four (4) baguette sapphires with elongated facets in an 18k white gold setting. The central diamond has a color I and clarity SI1. The octagonal shaped mount rests upon a pierced openwork under gallery accented by ornamented open shoulders that descend gently into a silky smooth band of white gold.

Condition: Good to very good; one small chip to a sapphire only noticeable with magnification; light surface wear to the sapphires and to the band as expected with age and use if viewed with a loupe.

Measurements: Just shy of 3/8 of an inch (0.8 cm) at the widest and rises from finger more than 1/8 of an inch (0.5 cm). Has a weight of 2.8 grams. Currently a size US 6-1/2 (British M – M-1/2; Euro 16.75 - 17.00, 53 mm). Our expert jewelers can easily size this ring up or down to fit most.

Date: Circa 1920

Note: All diamond and gemstone weights, color grades and clarity are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
