Victorian Archaeological Revival Earrings
Victorian jewelers undertook an interest in the revival of ancient gold working techniques, shapes and styles. Rendered in the Etruscan style, these 18k yellow gold hollow antique earrings show this inspiration. The use of curvilinear forms reflects the strong design sense of the jeweler. Already classical in shape, the scrolls accenting each side add to the image. Adorned with beautiful granulation of four gold beads worked into a diamond shaped pattern, delicate and intricate gold wire work and beading create a golden lintel as surmount. Later date 18k gold wires allow free flowing movement of each antique earring.
