Edwardian Agate Spinner Fob
Banded agate in opaque and translucent tones of brown that range from cinnamon to coffee, café au lait to light umber, alabaster white to chocolate form the base for this circa 1900 era Edwardian spinner fob. Twirling colors mesmerize as the agate turns on its rose gold gilt metal spinner mount deeply worked in a tight scrolling leaf design. The matrix or face of the fob remains un-carved.
Measures 1 inch (2.6 cm) in height. The base measures 7/8 of an inch (2.2 cm) by less than 5/8 of an inch (1.6 cm). The antique fob has a weight of 9.9 grams. Very good condition; a tad bit of oxidation on the bottom of the top “O” fitting and at each end of the mount; one small nick at the entry hole of one end of the spinner that is only visible with magnification. Medium in scale.
