Antique Edwardian Sapphire Locket

Rose gold of 14k does justice to this round Edwardian locket. The surface has been lightly textured with wavy lines and set with an off-center gem of the heavens—a high domed cabochon sapphire of Antwerp blue. Hinged locket opens with thumbnail catch to reveal one interior compartment complete with original glass and rim. Feminine and delicate locket to hold a cherished memory.
Measure more than ¾ of an inch (2 cm) in diameter and more than ¼ of an inch (0.7 cm) in thickness with a weight of 5.1 grams. Length is 1-1/8 inches (2.9 cm) including top “O” fitting. In very good condition; overall medium wear to the gold; a few minute chips to sapphire. Dates to circa 1900.
