Vienna Bronze Kiwi Bird
Beginning around 1850 independent craftsmen in Austria began competing in the casting of exquisite bronze statues of humans and naturalistic figure of animals and birds. Here is a fine example of a Vienna bronze miniature of a charming kiwi bird immortalized in precise detail. Hand painted and cast with infinite care even the separate feathers are apparent.
Measurements: 1-1/4 inches (3.2 cm) in height by over ½ of an inch (1.4 cm) in width by 7/8 of an inch (2.1 cm) in thickness from the back to the tip of the beak. Has a weight of 31.6 grams.
Condition: Very good; a tad bit of overall wear to paint with some bronze showing.
