Edwardian Opal Rose Cut Diamond Ring
The opulence of opals conjures up images of watery depths and fire and lightning. With a continual change of colors full of mystery and awe, an oval opal cabochon of approximately .68 carats dances a pas de deux of luster and shine with a surround of fourteen (14) rose cut diamonds of approximately .02 carats each in a hallmarked 14k yellow gold setting. The opal flashes with hues of neon green and tinges of red and orange in a never ending cascade of nature’s own palette of colors.
Measures 7/16 of an inch (1.1 cm) in length by 3/8 of an inch (0.9 cm) in width for the cluster. Ring has a weight of 2.2 grams. Currently is a size US 6-1/4 ((UK L 1/2; Euro 16 3/4; 52.5 mm) and can be easily sized up or down. In excellent condition. Dates to circa 1910. Although small in scale, this vintage ring shines with Edwardian excellence.
