Antique Sterling Silver Bangle
Strong design stands out in any period of jewelry. Here in the later Victorian period, the Aesthetic Movement with its tapestry of floral and nature-inspired motifs is combined with bold geometry in a zig zag pattern. Sterling silver is the medium and is accented by touches of rose gold (for the flower heads) and yellow gold (for some leaves). Deep engraving is employed for stems and cross-hatching as well as geometric definition.
Wide and dramatic, the bangle measures 1-3/8 inches wide (3.8 cm) and will fit a wrist 7 inches or less in diameter. In very good condition; there is light wear on the reverse with some surface wear, tiny scratches and three minute indentions; the interior shows patina and light wear. Closes tightly and securely. Hallmarked "sterling silver" and dates to circa 1900 - 1910. Fantastic on, a very fine example of the silver bangle popular from about 1870 to 1910.
