Antique Emerald & Diamond Cluster Ring
Old European cut diamonds, eleven (11) in all, surround eight (8) vivid peacock green natural emeralds. Each emerald is about 2 mm across and shimmers with a rich depth. Astounding is that the brilliance of the diamonds belies their total estimated diamond weight of .68 carats, with the center diamond weighing approximately .12 carats.
Dating to circa 1880, the mount is 14k rose gold with a smooth and rounded band. The ring measures just less than 1/2 of an inch (1.2 cm) in diameter and sits up off the finger 3/16 of an inch or 0.4 cm. Currently a size US 6-3/4 (UK N, Euro 17.25, 54.5 mm) but can be sized. Light wear to the emeralds, otherwise in excellent condition. Superlative brilliance - not for the faint of heart.
Note: All diamond weights and color grades are approximate since the stones were not removed from their mounts to preserve the integrity of the setting.
