Vintage Engagement Ring c. 1923
Quintessentially Art Deco, this ring is beautifully hand pierced and engraved. Dated by engraving, the overall design is simple and elegant. The mounting is 15k yellow gold and has a prominent gallery. All outer sides are hand engraved with patterning matching the pierced open work of the Deco era.
The diamond is a .20 carat old European cut with a color of I and clarity of SI. The ring is engraved, "W.I. to C.T. (or J) and possibly Hinas" 1923.
Measurements: 5/16 of an inch from point to point and 3/16 of an inch rise off the finger. It is a size US 7 (UK 9-1/2; Euro 17.25; 55 mm) but can be sized.
Condition: In excellent condition with light wear.
Hallmarks: 15k and PL (14k gold and Platinum for the top), and a marker’s mark of LR.
Date: Circa 1923.
Note: all diamond weight and grading are estimates, as the stone was not removed from its mount.
