In the Pink: Georgian Paste Earrings
A vibrant pair of antique pendant earrings utilizes chromatic Georgian paste the color of pink topaz. A design carryover from the earlier century with a tri-part configuration--suspended from a smaller oval mount set with a single paste gem is a pear-shaped elongated drop from which hangs a small circular paste. Each paste is set into a saw toothed and claw set bezel with the classic foiling and closed back expected of Georgian jewelry. Touches of granulation around the perimeters adds to the visual and textural impression of the earrings.
