Story

Elongated and sensuous teardrops of chalcedony form pendulum-like crystals on a chandelier in these Georgian era earrings

Translucent, their color is a milky white with hints of steely blue. Chalcedony is in the same family of minerals such as agate and onyx.

Their decorative surmounts were created from 18k rich yellow gold in repoussé, cannetille beehives that resemble spun and whorled precious metal, and textured conical caps.

Long and dramatic, their presence is softened by their hue and the delicacy of workmanship to the tops. Modern post fittings have been added. Circa 1820-30, they are light enough on the ear not to weigh down the lobe.
